Shrewsbury International School Bangkok is one of South East Asia’s outstanding international schools, with two campuses in Bangkok; Riverside and City Campus.

The Riverside campus currently enrols 1,800 students from Early Years to Sixth Form. Graduates from Shrewsbury City Campus progress to Riverside at the start of Year 7. The Senior School at Riverside is expanding from September 2021 adding a range of spectacular new facilities. Shrewsbury’s Riverside campus enjoys a spectacular setting on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in the heart of Bangkok. The teaching environments are spacious, fully equipped and dramatic. There is ready access by road and boat, which provides an easy and quick link to Bangkok’s Skytrain and the city centre. City Campus opened its gates in August 2018 and builds on the success of Shrewsbury International School Bangkok Riverside. There is regular liaison between the two campuses.

Position Summary:

The Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, Shrewsbury Bangkok Riverside is a senior position reporting to the Bangkok Director of Marketing. He/she will also have a dotted-line reporting relationship with  the  Riverside Principal. The Marketing Manager is able to initiate strategic plans as well as implementing them, tracking and evaluating results. He/she is responsible for leading, managing and driving the marketing team at Riverside. The successful candidate will work closely with the Bangkok Director of Marketing, Principal, Director of Business Services, Admissions teams and Senior Management Team. 

Native English language speaker preferred. A Thai candidate could only be considered if they possess very strong English language skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop and deliver a highly-polished and professional marketing service in support of Shrewsbury Riverside business priorities and objectives.
  • To work closely with the Admissions teams in assessing and responding to enrollment data and trends.
  • To lead the key marketing domains for the Riverside Campus: Advertising and Promotional Campaigns - Digital and Print; Public Relations; Word of Mouth; Social Media & Website; Events, Networking & Outreach; Internal and External Communications; Presentation and Brand Management; Media Management; Academic Department Support.
  • To manage and motivate members of the Riverside Marketing team to deliver relevant campaigns, events and communications.
  • To initiate innovative, clear, and focused marketing campaigns that impact on target growth / enrollment in line with the annual budget.
  • To monitor the local and Bangkok competitors closely and advise the Bangkok Director of Marketing and SMT as appropriate.
  • To support the Bangkok Director of Marketing in implementing internal and  external communications strategies to ensure that the school communicates professionally, consistently and accurately in a prompt and timely fashion with parents, pupils, employees, feeder schools, partner organisations and the wider community in accordance with the school’s branding and core values.
  • To define and deliver a programme of student recruitment focused outreach activities with feeder schools, relocation agents, HR departments at major Bangkok employers, etc.
  • To ensure high quality communications and provide overall editorial control for Riverside. Ensuring appropriate content, use of tone and language especially in English.
  • To assist the Bangkok Director of Marketing in ensuring that the Shrewsbury Riverside brand is a respected and known entity locally, nationally, regionally and internationally.
  • To ensure consistent use of Shrewsbury branding elements across the school.

Tasks:

  • In collaboration with Bangkok Director of Marketing, agree agenda and prepare for the monthly Marketing meeting at Riverside.
  • Contribute to Governors reports, and lead as required, marketing committee meetings and sub-group meetings.
  • Work closely with the leadership team at Riverside to shape, develop and introduce school events to provide positive impact and/or marketing exposure. 
  • Define and closely monitor all social media output, working closely with the Marketing Manager - Digital and Marketing Manager - Content and Communication, as appropriate, 
  • Devise, plan, promote and execute both admissions-specific events and internal community events such as concerts, exhibitions, and parent seminars in both live and digital format.
  • Quality control in-house and external design and production of branded materials, publications, products and displays, briefing graphics team as necessary.
  • Promote awareness and compliance with brand visual identity guidelines across the community.
  • Devise, plan and execute multi-media content strategies to support the marketing plan.
  • Identify and evaluate advertising and PR opportunities that align with admissions and the school’s strategic development objectives, and prepare adverts, advertorial and PR pieces for release in 3rd party publications and websites accordingly.
  • Ensure that the school is listed in key directories and the information held about the school is up to date.
  • To support the Principal in being the public face of the Riverside Campus and advise him in PR matters and creating a positive impact.

Qualification

Candidate Profile:

  • Excellent reading and writing in English, with an experience of copywriting an advantage. Ability to communicate in Thai is desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent people management skills - able to lead, manage and motivate members of the Marketing team;
  • Confident in own ability, able to lead and be a team player
  • Determination to complete tasks, prioritise work effectively and to challenging deadlines.
  • Experience with all aspects of current digital marketing platforms including social media. 
  • Market knowledge and understanding. Up to date with digital media, local online media, social media, Google PPC and Google analytics.
  • Experience of campaign planning and budget management.
  • Experience in lead generation, data analysis and management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to connect and build positive relationships with parents, staff and stakeholders. 
  • Is flexible in attitude, proactive, strategic minded and comfortable with wider responsibilities. 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Child Safeguarding:

  • keep professional relationships with students where personal boundaries are respected and maintained
