Job description

Feed the Future’s Asia Innovative Farmers Activity discovers, develops, and disseminates agricultural innovations throughout Asia. The USAID/Winrock International project office is located in Bangkok, Thailand with country offices in Bangladesh, Cambodia and Nepal.  Winrock International is a nonprofit organization that works with people in the United States and around the world to empower the disadvantaged, increase

economic opportunity, and sustain natural resources.

The Event Director will oversee the design, promotion, and execution of the annual Tech4Farmers Challenge Event (“Event”), which has been held in Bangkok, Thailand, but new locations may be considered.  The event attendance to date has averaged 200 persons.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop business and marketing plan for the Event to break even

2. Identify and activate revenue streams to fund the Event such as entrance fees, display booths, and advertising

3. Establish and execute an annual communications plan to build interest to the Event

4. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define an agenda

5. Identify and oversee event production services

6. Manage all participants and content providers to ensure timely submission of high quality materials

7. Design and ensure creation of a short video to highlight the Event

8. Represent the activity to external audiences, including investors, government officials, and private

sector representatives

9. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Experience and proven record of success in establishing a sustainable annual event forum

• Established contacts and network in the sector and internationally.

• Extensive sales, marketing and promotion experience

• Excellent English language skills

• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

• Excellent attention to detail

• Skilled at establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships

• Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills

• Proven ability to develop, coordinate and resolve conflicts within a team

• Education: Master's Degree

• 5-10 years of experience

Location:  may be based in any S.E./South Asian country, preference for Bangkok, Thailand, travel as needed
