Vacancy: Senior Development Adviser (Climate Change)

(Fixed term, with contract ending 30 June 2026)

 An exciting opportunity has opened up at the New Zealand Embassy in Bangkok for a suitably qualified Senior Development Adviser ( Climate Change).

As part of a small, high–performing team, the primary focus is for you to support the Climate Change focused portfolio, relationship management, reporting and policy advice on Climate Change activities in Cambodia, Lao PDR and The Mekong Region as well as the support to New Zealand’s wider South/South East Asia Regional Climate Change activities.

The person we seek will have a relevant tertiary qualification/s ideally relating to climate change, international development, economics, or public sector administration and practical experience in government, multilateral system or development focused organisations in a senior or technical capacity. Post-graduate qualifications would be an advantage.

The applicant we are looking for will be able to work independently and will demonstrate sound judgement.  They will also be able to work harmoniously and effectively in a small team environment.

A high-level of spoken and written English is essential.
