Job description

Position : SUB-EDITOR

The Bangkok Post is looking for a self-motivated, energetic person to urgently fill
the position of sub-editor.

The candidate accepted for this position will be responsible for
overseeing the sub-editing and proofing of articles written by
non-native English language speakers across the front section of the
paper, including National News, Opinion, World News and the website.

He or she will also process longer-form copy for the Sunday paper, and
take on any other subbing duties as required.

Qualification

• Minimum 3 years’ experience writing or sub-editing with an
English-language publication preferred

• Fluent command of the English language. Non-native speakers of

English can apply, but native speakers are preferred

• Ability to work to strict deadlines and under time pressure,
including some anti-social hours

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to work well within a small, dedicated team

• A strong interest in local news, international news, and current affairs
