Job description

Position: Native Speaking Nursery Teacher

KPIS preschool teachers and staff believe that children have the right to quality childhood which includes a nurturing environment that supports and nurtures a child's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development, an environment that promotes individual differences and fosters development at a pace appropriate to each individual child and where children can explore and initiate their own learning.

Nursery to Pre-Kindergarten adopted the Creative Curriculum which is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that features exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills. It is designed to help educators at all levels of experience to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, content-rich program for children with diverse backgrounds and skill levels. Partnership with families is embedded in the curriculum which is strongly encouraged for both school and home to work together as it is vital in forming healthy and successful early years.

Job Description 

  • Provide a safe and stimulating environment that facilitates learning
  • Organize learning activities in and out of the classroom, such as reading, singing, dancing, cooking, roleplay, etc.
  • Communicate and partner with families
  • Record, monitor and assess learning progress
  • Manage co-teacher and nanny in the classroom
  • Know and understand how children at their age develop and learn, and the objectives used to observe and assess their development
  • Adaptive and able to maintain resource materials in the classroom for routines and learning experiences
  • Exercise and maintain proper hygiene
  • Model good behavior using appropriate use of language and tone of voice when speaking

Minimum Requirements

  • Native English speaking
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field
  • 2 years experience teaching preschool age children
  • Understand child development
  • Love working with children
  • Committed and passionate in nurturing children
  • Capable of helping children reach their potential
  • Enthusiastic, imaginative, nurturing and energetic individual 

Preferred 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Experience teaching using Creative Curriculum as a framework
  • Know content knowledge appropriate for early childhood years
  • Have a broad range of caring and teaching strategies that support child development and make learning meaningful and engaging for each child
