Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) is the department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) established to attract and retain foreign direct investment in Hong Kong. Being a global financial centre and the business capital in Asia, Hong Kong is a premier business hub for companies expanding business in the Far East and tapping the opportunities under the Belt and Road initiatives.

Reporting to the Head, Investment Promotion, the Deputy Head, Investment Promotion will be responsible for identifying, attracting and supporting companies to set up or expand in Hong Kong by engaging in strategic planning and execution of investment promotion activities, visits to top level executives of leading companies and providing assistance to potential investors in Thailand and markets covered by HKETO.  The ideal candidate should be result-oriented, energetic and enthusiastic with strategic thinking and sound interpersonal skills and can-do attitudes.

Salary    

THB 98,196 per month

Entry Requirements

1. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or International Marketing; a higher degree would be an advantage;
2. Minimum of 5 years of international sales and/or business development experience, preferably in foreign direct investment promotion or economic development, at a managerial position;
3. Excellent presentation and communication skills in English and Thai; knowing Chinese, Burmese, Khmer or Bengali is an advantage;
4. Broad knowledge of the Thailand economy and relevant working experience in Thailand are important; experience of living and/or doing business in Hong Kong would be an asset; and
5. Eligible to take up employment in Thailand without arrangement of work visa by the employer.

Job Duties

1. To assist in driving the promotion work for inward investment to Hong Kong in the geographic markets under the purview of the HKETO;
2. To assist in implementing the annual geographic business plan for promoting inward investment to Hong Kong;
3. To devise the list of target companies, in particular in priority sectors as identified by the Invest Hong Kong Head Office and those that can create valued employment in Hong Kong;
4. To proactively reach out to target companies via conducting marketing activities and promotional campaigns as well as individual company visits and to provide timely advice and practical assistance to potential investors;
5. To organise and support visit programmes for different sector teams as well as the directorate from InvestHK Head Office;
6. To develop links and networks with business multiplier organisations and identify opportunities that can help raise the profile of Hong Kong and Invest Hong Kong;
7. To collect market intelligence and information on the sectors of interest;
8. To support HKETO’s activities as and when required; and
9. To perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Terms of Appointment

A new recruit will normally be appointed on probationary terms for a fixed period.  Upon completing the probationary terms with satisfactory performance and conduct, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms as locally-engaged staff of the HKETO.  Medical, social security, workmen compensation, retirement benefits, leave and other statutory benefits as required under the laws and regulations of the Kingdom of Thailand will be offered.
