The Head of Investment Promotion will be leading the Investment Promotion Unit of HKETO to attract companies to set up office or expand their businesses in Hong Kong by engaging the top-level executives of leading companies and small & medium enterprises in promotion activities, visits and meetings and providing practical assistance to potential investors in Thailand and markets covered by HKETO.

Salary    

THB 159,940 per month

Entry Requirements

1. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or International Marketing; a higher degree would be an advantage;
2. Minimum of 10 years of international sales and/or business development experience, preferably in foreign direct investment promotion or economic development, at a managerial position;
3. Excellent presentation and communication skills in English and Thai; knowing Chinese, Burmese, Khmer or Bengali is an advantage;
4. Broad knowledge of the Thailand economy and relevant working experience in Thailand are important; experience of living and/or doing business in Hong Kong would be an asset; and
5. Eligible to take up employment in Thailand without arrangement of work visa by the employer.

1. To represent InvestHK (a Government department of Hong Kong) in Bangkok for inward investment promotion work in the geographic markets under the purview of the HKETO;
2. To develop a strategy and implement the annual geographic business plan for promoting inward investment to Hong Kong and take the lead in achieving annual targets;
3. To devise the list of target companies, in particular in priority sectors as identified by the InvestHK Head Office and those that can create valued employment in Hong Kong;
4. To reach out to target companies via conducting marketing activities and promotional campaigns as well as individual company visits and to provide timely advice and practical assistance to potential investors;
5. To maintain good working relations with the trade associations and key stakeholders/multiplier organisations for market development and lead generation;
6. To collect market intelligence and information on the sectors of interest;
7. To raise the profile of Hong Kong and InvestHK in the geographic markets under the purview of the HKETO;
8. To suggest ways to improve Hong Kong’s competitiveness and attractiveness as a business location;
9. To arrange and organize visit programmes for different sector teams as well as the directorate from InvestHK Head Office;
10. To work closely with sector teams to identify new leads and complete projects;
11. To provide inputs into briefs and returns as and when required by the InvestHK Head Office;
12. To oversee the administration of the Investment Promotion Unit in HKETO and manage the budget and financial resources of the Unit;
13. To support HKETO’s activities as and when required; and
14. To perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Term of Appointment

A new recruit will normally be appointed on probationary terms for a fixed period.  Upon completing the probationary term with satisfactory performance and conduct, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms as locally-engaged staff of the HKETO.  Medical, social security, workmen compensation, retirement benefits, leave and other statutory benefits as required under the laws and regulations of the Kingdom of Thailand will be offered.
