EXPIRED

The Change.org Foundation empowers people to leverage technology and build social movements that create transformational change.

The Foundation leverages Change.org - the world’s largest petition platform - and combines it with in-country campaigning, communications and capacity-building.

We have an exciting opening for an exceptional campaigner to join our Thailand team. You'll be a key part of creating rapid-response campaigns across dozens of issues – helping to grow, engage, and support our users to start and win their own campaigns.

Job description

Here's what you'll do as part of our team:

● Stay on top of news stories and current topics around social, cultural, economic and environmental issues in the country and globally, and come up with creative and impactful campaign ideas.

● Curate promising campaigns started by Change.org users, and help these campaigns win through strategic advice, storytelling, media and social media outreach, content distribution and events. You will manage multiple campaigns in a high-paced environment.

● Identify opportunities to grow and engage our users and monthly members. Utilise insights and data to support effective email targeting, manage content, and provide a great user experience.

● Connect and work with social good networks, organisations, media, influencers and other potential partners to help them access the full potential of Change.org for social change.

● Help manage Change.org Thailand’s social media presence - building and engaging communities on Facebook, Twitter and other relevant platforms.

Qualification

And here are the skills & experience of an ideal candidate:

● A commitment to our goal of empowering people to create the change they want to see

● A great understanding of online and offline campaigning and how social movement intersects with technology and online communications platforms

● High-level strategic thinker, with a strong grasp of politics and power. You understand the pressure points in Thailand and are able to make strategic decisions in fast-moving, and sometimes complex situations.

● An ability to work on a range of issues with diverse groups of Change.org users

● A strong understanding of messaging, and the judgment to repeatedly find the right message to engage Change.org users and other stakeholders

● Strong rapport-building and relationship skills. You can build partnerships and be a trusted ally amongst social change collaborators in Thailand.

● Exceptional writing skills in Thai (native), able to craft compelling and persuasive written communication for an online audience

● Fluent in English, so you can effectively participate in the Change.org global team

● Enjoy working in an online environment. Experience in online community management or in using a variety of social media tools to engage an online audience

● Experience with analytics, metrics, email, experimentation, targeting and data-driven campaigning highly desirable

● Knowledge of the fundraising landscape or experience in digital fundraising in Thailand a plus

● At least 5 years experience working in a cross-cultural setting -- preferably in the media, advocacy, campaign, civic engagement, content creation, communications, or digital media -- but if you make up for lack of experience with passion and a willingness to learn quickly, you should still apply.

It’s important that you are driven and excited to join a collaborative work environment. Your co-workers are high-impact, low-ego, and have a true respect for our users and partners.

We love serving our users, and we love our staff too. We show it through competitive salaries, five weeks annual leave, robust parental leave, and a supportive culture where you'll work alongside some of the world's leading campaign and communications experts.

This position is based in Bangkok, and is often driven by a campaign cycle, so there are times that involve long hours and times that don’t. Our culture recognises both the needs of campaigns and the need for our staff to have a life.

We are an equal opportunity employer, which means we strongly encourage any interested parties to apply – we don’t discriminate on the basis of age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or physical disability.

If you are excited about the role and think you have the skill sets that match it, send us your application explaining why you are excited about this role and how you qualify - please apply to us directly here.
