We at General Motors (GM) consider Thailand as the center of our Southeast Asian growth. We are looking for outstanding Thai talent to grow with us and our Chevrolet brand as we develop GM's global strength by building our established presence in the greater Asia region.

GM has invested more than $500 million in an all new diesel engine plant and related vehivle product programs in South East Asia. With Southeast Asia's "Big Three" markets Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia expanding rapidly, we are also significantly increasing our Annual Purchased Value (the purchase of parts, raw materials and service) from $200 million to $1.6 billion of which $1 billion will be spent here in Thailand. We want to concentrate on building our vehicles where we sell our vehicles and for this to happen we will focus on localizing our manufacturing which will involve increasing our engineering and supplier capabilities and developing our workforce.
