Job description

AHF Asia is looking for a competent candidate for the positon of Advocacy & Marketing Manager. Advocacy & Marketing Manager is responsible for the timely and structured management of region-wide policy change with focus on increasing the access to treatment, rapid test, condoms and AHF Branding, through advocacy and marketing approaches.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Advocacy

  • Support the Chief of Asia Bureau to develop, implement and evaluate advocacy and policy change agenda and to promote the work of AHF at the national and regional levels.
  • The Advocacy and Marketing Manager will lead our high level policy and advocacy activities on the provisions of HIV prevention, testing, OI/ART and in-country policy-changes
  • Identify and lead research into relevant development and HIV policy, write policy reports and briefings as strategic direction.
  • Plan, develop and monitor implementation of advocacy strategy according to AHF mission and core values;
  • Conduct advocacy and marketing trips to all AHF Asia Bureau countries, provide training to the country teams and their partners, field visits, identify advocacy priorities and assist in the action plan development.
  • Facilitate the country teams in the development of their advocacy plans and the related budget. Submit the plans to the Asia Bureau Chief and Global Advocacy Team for their approval.
  • Coordinate and communicate AHF advocacy and policy change programs with other regional and national development networks, with key decision and policy makers, and liaison with national and regional media;
  • Build appropriate partnerships with other organizations to develop policies in relation to AHF advocacy agenda;
  • Promote the work of AHF at the national and regional levels;
  • Maintain good working relationships with AHF partners and external agencies;
  • Provide information on funding opportunities to support advocacy and partnership work in the region;

 

Marketing

  • Assist in the development and Roll Out all AHF Asia Bureau Country Marketing Strategies and Monitor its implementation in line with the organization’s strategy priorities.
  • Liaise with Medical, Prevention and Advocacy Coordinators and Country Program Managers, to develop, roll out and monitor marketing plans, documentation, brand profiling to increase public awareness and influence attitudes and behaviors.
  • Coordinate, supervise and evaluate the services provided by PR/marketing agency
  • Manage AHF’s PR firms in Asia alongside the LA Global Advocacy & Marketing team
  • Initiate and sustain strategic linkages with potential service providers to ensure obtaining of cost effective products with compromising standards.
  • Manage AHF’s media monitoring agencies (print press clips, web, video and radio)
  • Contribute to strategic decision through Marketing Meetings(MMs) and Bureau meetings (BMs)
  • Oversee AHF press conferences and media events
  • Maintain and uphold AHF standard of documentation, branding and profiling in line with global priorities to deepen our position as a ‘challenger brand’ in fighting AIDS
  • Undertake other duties as required.

Qualification

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or higher, preferably in social work, public policy, health policy, public health, Marketing or Business related field from an accredited University
  • Minimum five years of proven experience in HIV programs, Health Policy, Human Rights, sexuality & diversity, Health & HIV marketing
  • Proven experience in community mobilization and building stakeholder relationship at national and regional level.
  • Familiarity with relevant countries’ HIV policies
