Title:  Technical Director

Report to:  Managing Director

Location:  Rayong, Thailand

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of new products
• Lead, mentor, and develop the technical team
• Lead the team to provide first in class technical support to current and new customers
• Provide technical expertise and support to manufacturing to solve manufacturing and quality issues
• Develop the cost reduction projects to help the enterprise meet profit targets
• Support Supply Chain in qualifying new suppliers and new raw materials
• Support Marketing Manager in identifying new customers, new markets, adjacent markets, and new products to support the enterprises growth strategy
• Provide leadership in meeting customer needs to meet existing and new government regulations
• Work closely with Operations to transition and hand over new products to Manufacturing
• Create and manage the budget for the technical team including a trial cost budget
• Share experience, information, and technologies across the ES technical teams
• Ability to travel as requested / deemed necessary to learn and develop new products.

• Degree or higher in Scientific or Engineering discipline directly relevant to coated fabrics and film based polymer and textile products e.g. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Textiles, Polymer Science or Polymer Technology and Processing.
• At least 10 years experience in manufacturing of decorative or functional polymer films, coated fabrics, textiles or similar manufacturing industry.
• Knowledgeable of a large proportion of the key manufacturing processes i.e. extrusion, calendering, casting, coating, printing, embossing, color management.
• Good knowledge of raw material suppliers relevant to the company’s business.
• Accountable for major new product development projects.
• Proven track record of original creative ideas that were turned into successfully commercialized products.
• Had implemented or is fully familiar with stage-gate type new product development processes
• Have experience in leading a sizable team
• Responsible for recruitment, personal development and discipline of direct reports.
• Hands on experience of problem solving in customer and production environments.
• Thorough understanding of International quality systems and processes.
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Thai
