Purpose of the Position

This post is responsible for managing and growing income from individuals capable of giving significant donations to UNICEF’s work for children. Responsible for identifying potential donors (prospects), cultivating donations and achieving agreed income targets.

 

 Major Responsibilities 

  • Implement of a major donor fundraising strategy, plan and budget, adhering to UNICEF global guidelines and best practice in relationship building , soliciting and subsequent relationship management of major donors.
  • Research and identify major donor prospects (capable of gifts in excess of THB 3 million) including collecting and analyzing background information, developing prospect lists, profiling UNICEF’s existing donors, prioritizing approaches and recommending giving capacity.
  • Coordinate and manage prospect nurturing and solicitation including preparing written project proposals and other resources, donor agreements, planning the approach, involving key UNICEF staff members (as appropriate) and arranging and attending high-level meetings.
  • Contact and meet personally with donors and prospects. Interact effectively and capably with donors and their advisors during the process of structuring their charitable giving.
  • Once major donor relationship is established, manage the portfolio of major donors including the maintenance of all donor profiles, tracking solicitation activities, preparing donor reports, and determining and managing donor recognition and follow up.
  • Utilize outreach and recognition activities to ensure the relationship building of prospects and donors. This includes planning and arranging donor events, meetings or conference calls, establishing assignments, and follow-up communications.
  • Take the lead in continuing to grow the funds from this revenue stream by increasing both the number of major donors and the amounts given by current major donors.

Qualification

 Qualifications of Successful Candidate 

  • Advanced University degree in Social Sciences, Marketing, Economics, Banking/Finance, Communication or a related field ** A first level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. **
  • Minimum two years of relevant professional work experience, e.g. New business development, account management, marketing or elite customer service
  • Thai Nationals
  • Outstanding interpersonal, networking, persuading and communication skills, with experience of successfully interacting with affluent clients
  • Experience in fundraising, non-profit management an asset
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Goal-oriented self-starter, strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Teamwork, tact and discretion
  • Result-oriented
  • High language proficiency in both Thai and English (written and verbal)
  • Able to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends
