Job description
Amnesty International is taking steps to become a more global movement. As part of this initiative, we’re opening an office in Bangkok – an office that will tackle a host of human rights issues in South East Asia and the Pacific. As Regional Director, we’ll look to you to develop and adapt our global strategies across this region.
Leading a multifunctional team, you’ll develop and deliver effective research, campaigns, communications, growth and fundraising plans. So you’ll need to create a culture of collaboration and integration as you establish the office, support your staff, manage resources and increase the impact of our work. At the same time, you’ll make sure your team comply with all the relevant laws, policies and practices while representing everything Amnesty stands for.
A politically astute, inspirational and resilient leader, you’ll bring us expert knowledge and experience of international human rights. A sound knowledge of regional political and social contexts that comes from living and working in the region is also essential. As are the communication, presentation and advocacy skills to create plans, manage staff and maintain a strong network of government, NGO and media contacts.
