Job description

Purpose of the Position

Under the supervision of Regional Adviser HIV/AIDS, the staff member will provide support on programme management functions (including monitoring) and carry out operational and administrative functions to contribute towards the achievement of the regional office results and targets. Also, to serve as the centre of information for the (sectoral) cluster by creating, updating and promoting a sectoral knowledge base which is the primary source of information for the Regional Advisers and Regional Directors.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide key operational support functions including preparation, management and monitoring of budgets and contracts related to the HIV/AIDS Programme’s need.
  • Through research, serve as the data focal point for the Regional HIV/AIDS team, helping to support the effective knowledge management of staff across the East Asia and Pacific region. Supporting programming and advocacy activities. This includes data monitoring system and contributing to ready-to-use fact sheet/ document relevant to HIV/AIDS Programme.
  • Support HIV/AIDS Programme communication internally and externally to strengthen effective implementation of the workplan.
  • Support quality assurance and monitoring of results at the Country Office level through assisting in the review of Annual Reports and the Results Assessment Module; maintaining the data management and monitoring system in relation to UNICEF country programmes’ annual progress. Also providing support to team members in the office-wide cross cutting groups.

Qualification

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

  • Completion of secondary education. University degree with training in relevant field is preferred. Academic qualifications in research and statistics are highly desirable.
  • Six years of progressively responsible programme and administrative work, of which at least two years includes financial and contract management and/or research in scanning, filtering, and synthesizing information/data.
  • Advanced language proficiency in spoken and written English and Thai with excellent drafting ability in English.
  • Strong skills in administrative and financial management.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage diverse assignments as well as basic statistics and statistical interpretation.
  • Strong skills in researching and research writing as well as processing of computer-generated data through knowledge of office procedure and systems.
  • Tact, discretion, a self-starter, attentive to detail, with good judgment.
  • Ability to handle and complete multiple tasks within deadlines.
  • Proven proficiency and good knowledge of computer applications, including data management related.
