• To provide coaching and training to the nursing staff of provincial and district hospitals, in order to uplift the standard of nursing management and nursing practice, according to international standards;
• To provide technical advice as to the organization on nursing care and its implementation in the respective provincial and district health facilities;
• To strengthen to overall Quality of Care Improvement mechanisms.

• Registered Nurse-Midwife (minimum Bachelor Degree) with at least 10 years of nursing experience, including at nursing management positions;
• Additional qualifications (Master Degree or Diploma) in Nursing care, Public Health or related field is recommended;
• Additional midwifery qualifications and experience will be considered an asset;
• Professional body registration and a valid nursing license to practice in home country;
• Experience with Health Services Accreditation schemes of international standards is an advantage;
• Proven experience in nurse training or coaching nursing programs in South-East Asia;
• Be a pro-active member of a multi-cultural team and have excellent interpersonal communicating skills and be able to guide and motivate collaborators;
• Fluency in both Lao/Thai and English (written, spoken);
• Good computer skills required (MS Office, other productivity tools).

The posts will be based at the provincial health directorate of either Khammouane province (Thakhek City) or Bolikhamxay province (Paksane City) in Laos.

Fieldwork will take place in provincial, district hospitals and in selected health centers of the respective province.

Salary:  based on experience and qualification

Duration of contract: one-year contract, extension subject to evaluation and mutual consent.

Expected starting date: 05 January 2015
