Job description

          A fast growing Myanmar-based travel agency & tour operator is searching for a senior executive to look after the overall business and continually improve margins and profits. The CEO will be a strategic thinker and capable executor with a relentless focus on the bottom line. The CEO will report to the Board of Directors and will spend a significant amount of time in Myanmar (Yangon).

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all company departments: Product & Content Development, Sales & Marketing, Operations, HR/IT/Finance with particular emphasis on the marketing department and  its marketing and rebranding campaign;
  • Maximize the potential of existing clients, increase margin and turnover, and identify and exploit new commercial and product opportunities;
  • Recommend performance targets and monitor progress on a continual basis, working with all department heads to ensure that targets are achieved and exceeded;
  • Build and sustain a highly motivated team, grow and develop senior management and all team members;
  • Establish financial and operational standards within the company and standards of customer service;
  • Ensure that day-to-day operations are effectively and efficiently coordinated, implemented and conducted;
  • Prepare and control the annual budgeting for every department;
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, local regulations  and the Company’s ESG policy;
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and positioning.

Qualification

Skills and Experience Required

  • Prior experience of 7-10 years in the same or similar role
  • In depth knowledge of the travel industry, especially in Southeast Asia, and current travel industry trends
  • Prior knowledge of Myanmar travel products and travel industry a plus
  • Prior marketing experience, familiarity with technology-based solutions for the travel industry
  • Strong leadership skills, proven track-record of leading a successful team
  • Ability to “get things done”
  • Excellent organization and people-management skills
  • Fluent English speaker, other European languages a plus
